batteries i think? but now i don't know

ok truck gods. i recently got home from a short trip 4 days and my truck was dead. a week prior to that i just changed my oil and oil filter, i also installed a sound system an alpine deck and a 500 w 1 channel amp with sub. i ran the 2 gauge power wire from the driver side battery. after that was all said and done since it started to get real cold out here in jersey my glow plugs started to get real quiet and i would cycle them multiple times to start the truck and she would start real rough idle up and then run fine. but when she is cold she runs like **** until she is warmed up. so going back to the batteries i went to auto zone yesterday and got them tested. they apparently are both good batteries. so now I'm not sure what to really do, don't want to spend the money unless i have to on batteries. also on that driver side battery on the positive terminal when i put the system on the stock copper terminal broke off because of constant blue stuff coming off that terminal and corroding that whole area i replaced it with another one from auto zone. if you guys have any suggestions please help me sorry this whole post is confusing\:

Might get a voltage meter and see if you have a wire that is making contact somewere and is slowly sucking you batt's dry.

ok truck did not start for the last 1.5 days tested the ficm reading 48 with key turned on and 48 when trying to start cause guess what batteries where dead and my sound system was completely unhooked the last 1.5 days, so i went a got the new batteries and everything hooked everything back up tested again 48 volts running, also tested the alternator and it was 12.24v so i think the auto zone battery tester is garbage cause everything seems to be running great once i put the batteries in. thanks for the advice guys

Your alternator should be putting out more than 12.24 volts, a good alternator will charge at 13.8-14.2 volts.
I was having slow cranking issues after the truck sat for a few days. When I checked the alternator it was only charging @ 12.2 volts. I replaced the alternator and now it charges at 14.2 volts and I have no more slow cranking issues.

Also when you check your alternator let the truck run for a few mins then check voltage @ the alternator.
