I need some opinions im wanting to add some horse power for towing and better fuel mpg which of the sct do i need to get? and is there a good place to order from

Tunes depend on the amount of weight. I tow a 13,000 5th wheel using Matt's unlimited tow and elite's as well. You don't get any extra horsepower with these tunes, they do turn the egr valve off as I don't have my egr system deleted. Sometimes I'll run it stock, but I do notice my egt's a little higher.

Now, if your towing up to 8,000lbs Matt's tow tune works great and I get better fuel mileage as well (not much just a little).

Your best bet is to work with the person who will write the tunes to get it dialed in at the best setting.

What are you planning to do with your Edge CTS? Are you going to use it for monitoring only or are you replacing the whole thing?

I would go for a SCT X3/SF3 or Livewire depending on what you want to do. Either will let you load custom tunes or use SCT's standard tunes, which are still quite good.

FWIW, I have had the SCT X3/SF3 since 08 and just purchased the DashBoss system monitor. I was considering a Scan Gauge II, but opted for the DashBoss. The SCT X3/SF3 has limited internal data-logging. I used to hook up my laptop through the SCT interface for periodic monitoring.

Matt at Gearhead Automotive Performance has a great tow tunes, I really like how he tunes the tranny. He has 8k (or up to 13k for studded trucks) and unlimited tow which is pretty much just tranny tuning. This reminds me I need to get back with him to add turbo braking into my tunes, it's kind of like a Jake brake but using turbo back pressure.
