Exclamation Need Help bad guys!!

03 6.0. battery has intermittent charging while driving ive put a new alternator on and had that one tested twice. 2 new batteries and it still does it. ive checked all the wiring as far as i can and have put a battery cable from the atl post to the battery terminal and also from the neg battery terminal to the engine and neither helped. when its not charging if you jump from the battery to the green/red wire on the alt harness it starts charging. the truck HAS to get me to work tomorrow at the nuke plant over 25 miles away please help ASAP!!!

Thank you,

Tim

I've put extra ground wires on the block and that did not help. Any other ideas guys?

I have a similar issue. Occasionally my battyer light on my dash comes on at first startup. Two new batteries and a new alternator, still does it occasionally.

Does it less with a lil ATF in the fuel tank, lol, j/k.

The exciter wire is interrupted somewhere....you proved that by touching the battery to it and it starts charging. Time to find a wiring schematic and trace it back.
