cab clearance lights

ok, I've ordered the wire harness and lights from Ford and also purchased the smoked lenses from Recon. The wiring is fairly simple but the kit did not come with any sort of template for drilling the holes through the roof. Is there any sort of marking inside the cab once the headliner is lowered? Have any of you guys installed the clearance lights yourselves? I'm sure I can make my own template but just want to be prepared once I start the project.

from what i know their is nothing under the headliner... you will have to make your own template... easiest way is find a friend that already has the cab lights and make a template off of his... get some construction paper (the kind you cover windows with when you paint) and mark the curvature of the front window and where the doors meet... next mark where the cab lights are installed... and transfer all that to your truck..... hardest part is deciding to drill your roof lol....

Biggest issue is the drilling!

Just measure about 10 times and drill once! Remember if you screw up you have an inch each way to go b/c the cab lights will cover it.

I was going to do a write up but never did. It's easy just take your time and like the guys mentioned - measure, measure, measure. Nothing like taking a hole saw to the top of your rig.
Let me know when you're going to do it, I can give you my # so you can call if you have any questions.

Thats what we did when installing my brothers light. We measured off my truck and marked his then drilled away.Just incase you didnt know the harness connector is on passenger side behind kick pannel.
