Up and running!

Hey guys i posted in the introduction forum last week with my new truck and wanted to update you on the progress. Truck is a 2003 CCSB with 160k, 4wd fx4 Lariat. I bought it last week for $3500 non running. Well after checking it out i determined th FICM was my culprit so i sent it of to Ed at ficmrepair.com at a few members recommendations. Sending it to him for repair was an Excellent experience and i would highly reccomend his service to anyone else here. Well after 2 new batteries and installing th repaired FICM she fired right up on the first try. First thing i purchased besides the FICM was the edge insight so i hooked it up and took around the block to warm up and go through the paces. Coolant and oil temp is spot on about 2-3 degrees difference, FICM voltage is also greatand there dont appear to be any damaged injectors. Went up to see my friend Jeremy at Homegrown Diesel Performance and did a more thorough inspection on his lift. The exhaust is broken of clean right behind the DPF, front hubs and balljoints need replaced, rear tires and both side mirrors need replaced, and the rear dif locker is a bit worn probably associated with the rear tires being trash. He also informed me that the truck has a River city EGR delete installed so value added there. So Now heres where im at.

Have Done:

-2 new batteries
-FICM repaired by Ed at ficmrepair.com
-edge insight

Need to do:

-2 new rear tires
- front ball joints and hubs
-side mirrors
- windshield
- blue spring mod with fuel pressure gauge
-EGT to go with the insight
-coolant flush, recommended coolant?
- oil change with Rotella 5w40?

All comments and suggestions welcome. Also let me know if something should be added to the list. Remember i am new to the diesel world so go easy on me!

DPF is only on the 6.4 and 6.7. Other than that it sounds like you got good running truck for a good price!

Im guessing if its not a DPF then its a Cat.

For 3500 bucks you got a hell of a deal, or was it luck, we may never know. lol Enjoy the truck bud.

I kinda worked it a bit. I think the guy just needed the cash for something. Thing that gets me though is i bought it from the original owner. The title he gave me had 12 miles on it when it was issued in 03.
