Looking for opinions
I bought an 04 6.0L PS F250 last year used, in that time I have had the timing cover and water pump replaced and have just taken it back in to get the egr cooler and oil cooler replaced. I do all the preventative maintenance myself, add diesel cleen with every fill up. I don't usually do a lot of hauling but when I do it is usually a fully loaded cattle trailer. It has aprox 193,000 miles on the truck right now. In my opinion I think I've put a good deal of money into it already and looking for some things I can do to monitor the engine and performance. I've seen a lot of post about and edge system, what do ya'll think of it, is there something better out there?

I have the edge cts, I think the scanguage II is better for diagnostics........Write Up: Monitoring the 6.0L PSD.
Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get. |

Edge cts is good for monitoring but for the tuning I would stay with custom SCT tunes. The new SCT livewire is supposedly pretty good. It can monitor like the edge and also store custom tunes!

I personally recommend the Dashboss for a monitoring solution if you have an iPhone, iPod Touch or an iPad. For tuning SCT and custom tunes all the way.

In my opinion you should use the Edge for monitoring and the SCT for tuning

Thanks for the info guys, really appreciate it. Not looking to tune so much, more for monitoring.

You can't go wrong with the dashboss setup. It will monitor more PID's at any given time than the edge insight will and is capable of monitoring more parameters that the Insight cannot.

I also have the Torque Pro app for my Android phone if I need to do more troubleshooting. If you want a serious diagnostic tool AutoEnginuity is the stuff and it'll run on one of the laptops I already have. |

Then go with an Edge CS or CTS. The only difference with the CTS is the touch screen and back-up camera.
