Salvage vehicles

Has anyone considered buying a late model salvaged truck to get the stuff you wanted to put on your own truck? I would like to put the Dana super 60 front axle on my 350 cclb, along with some other stuff. I was wondering what your experience was, and if you ran into any problems with what you ended up getting? Have any of you pooled your money together to split up the costs, and sold of the useable stuff that you didn't want or need?

Send a PM to "cartmanea", IIRC he has rebuilt twice. He may have some good insight on whats involved.
