Question on RPM while towing.
I was towing about 7K this weekend. 62 Ford and open car trailer. At 70 MPR the RPM's where roughly 2200. Do those numbers seem right?

Factory peak torque is at 2000 rpms I do believe so 2200 will be perfectly fine.

Just seemed high. My 03 F350 SWR was always under 2000. But then again it had 373 rears and this dually got 410.

Its perfectly fine, might burn some more fuel but you pay to play.
You would rather be higher in the rpm's than peak torque than below. That way if you hit a hill and you start loosing speed you still havent reached peak torque. If you are below peak torque you will keep loosing power until it downshifts. 2200rpms gives you 200rpms of wiggle room |
