Need some solid advice

Hi guys. I am looking at scooping up a 2005 ext. cab lariat FX4 with 257,000 miles on it. Asking price is $5390. I am aware of all the 'issues' that need to be worked out on these engines. My question is, is it a bad idea to get into a rig with this mileage without any of the preventive (i.e. head studs, egr) done on it? I'm looking for some solid advice from the know hows on whether or not I should step into this deal. This isnt going to be an every day must rely on rig. Just thought for the price it might be something to scoop up. Thanks in advance for any and all opinions.

It's 5 grand dude. I paid more than that for my 05 with a blown up motor. Much less miles, but come on, you'd pay more for a Chevy cavalier.

do you have any history on the truck? Do you know if it's been maintained?
