buying a 6.0 in near future
Hey everyone. I will soon make my first 6.0 diesel purchase. Unfortunately, I am not as familiar with the after market changes that people had to do to fix Fords blunders with this motor.
Most trucks I see have had some of the modifications done to them but I want to make sure the upgrades are what the 6.0 needed. For instance, I found a 6.0 with just over 100k miles. Here is what the guys says has been done to it. ARP studs Head Gaskets coolant filtration system coolant solution kit bulldog tuner egr delete What else would you look for in a 6.0 diesel if you were purchasing it? My scenario is I dont have the time or a lot of extra cash to buy one stock and put all of this up there so i was hoping to find a used 6.0 that someone has taken the time to do a lot of this stuff. I love the off road look and prefer a lift on it but I would rather purchase a solid running truck then a solid looking truck....if that makes sense. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated to make my journey a little easier. |

Dich the bullydog, check the FICM voltage, you may need to reflash the pcm/ ficm after the bullydog because it may leave residual changes in the software. What year is the truck? All of these topics are covered in the stickies posted above.

2003 is the year model. I have been reading some of the posts up here and learning everything I can but I still wanted to post something to get some opinions from the more experienced out there.
I havent read too many good things about the bully dog. Which that could possibly give me some negotiating room on the truck considering everything I read says bullydog will cause more trouble for your 6.0 |
