6.4 Banjo bolts?
building my truck up, and during that I keep hearing about banjo bolts? Does anybody want to explain to me what they are? Thanks, for I am still learning about the 6.0 and diesels in general so bare with me!

they are the bolts that hold the banjo fittings on the front of the heads. Follow the tubing off the regulator and you will see them terminate on the front of the heads.
the only difference is the 6.4's don't have a check valve whereas the 6.0's do. Pretty easy and cheap job to do, supposedly aids in fuel delivery, never had a straight answer. While your there get the blue spring for the fuel pressure regulator, that is proven to be needed. |

Save it for a monitor, coolant filter, blue spring update, in that order. Jmo
Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get. |

I have had 6.4 banjo bolts in my garage for over a year now. Have had the engine apart 3 or 4 times to that level, and still can't find a good reason to install them. I would pass...

Well I would say they can't hurt and only help with the fuel flow to the injectors. I've spent money on worse mods.

To restate, I haven't seen any concrete evidence that the 6.4 banjos have a positive or negative effect on our trucks. That said, if you want them then get them as they won't do any harm. However, you could also save the $20, or whatever the cheap cost for them is, and put it towards something else. |
