Dealer doing ARP headstuds under warranty
So this is the typical friend of a friend story who got this done....He went to the dealer while his f250 6.0 was under warranty still. Bought ARP headstuds and dealer did the work underwarranty. He had a $100 deductable(like me) and that was it. Anyone heard of this before. he didnt throw anything or blow any gaskets, he just wanted to upgrade. think i got a shot at it?

Good luck. If you can...take it to the same dealer you friend did.

that's very possible. All dealers are different. I know of two in cali that would do that. It's great. My warranty is up sep. of 08. hopefully I can save up enough money to buh the studs by then! lol

Yah, some dealerships will do that -- but most will do it DURING a HG change underwarranty since everything is already off...
but, some dealerships WILL NOT install the headstuds EVEN THOUGH they are replacing the gaskets |

i had the same thing. my gaskets went and i bought the studs and they replaced the bolts with the studs and the only thing they actually charged me for was an extra hours labor because of the "extra steps"
involved with installing the studs. which really didnt bother me any cause i know how much $$$$ i saved. Total bill for the work done $182.95

He had them replaced without the gaskets being blown?? I don't beleive it
If he did I bet you if you ran a report on the truck it would state that the gaskets were blown. I can't see Ford covering an expensive job like that without a failure. I can see the dealer doing it if service was slow. Times are tough right now and they can use every buck they can get.My dealer wouldn't do it even with blown gaskets

My dealer put head studs and new heads and gaskets in mine without being blown. It all depends on the dealer. Some are cooler than others.

Most will do it with blown gaskets -- gotta find a good one that will do it for ya

with or without a problem , ford isnt gonna pay for any of it unless the story that is written up by the tech says that there was a verified concern with diag and proof that the vehicle needed the repair and nothing said about the studs being put in , ford would not go for that , regardless of wether its a better fix than factory studs or not
