STILL looking to buy a 6.0l, what year?

Ive been told to completely stay away from 03-04 because there is a lot more kinks than the newer ones and its not even worth it to get one. Any input on this guys? what years are the better years to look for.

Most people will say get an 06-07 and avoid the 03-05. Personally, I think it's all on the trucks history. I have an 03 and have had issues - but, I don't consider my issues to be as big as others have posted with same or later year 6.0's. Just do some research, get an oasis report and read the stickied threads in the 6.0 file on here.

I wouldn't be afraid of a 03-04 if properly checked over/maintained!!!

But I would not buy one because the 05-07 have coil springs, built in towing controller, never body, newer interior, and some other nice stuff

I say 05-07

The best ones would be any built after January 2006, that is when they went to larger dowel pins for the heads. It's not a big difference but there is a difference.

The egr cooler and headbolts are the same, so you will not be any better off than the 05's and early 06's.

2005 is when Ford upgraded the suspension and brakes so I would suggest going with any 2005-2007 model.

I have a 04 and it has been great. I agree it wouldn't worry me to buy any year if u know its history. Good ones and bad ones in all years.

You just have to get lucky. I looked for months before finding one with low miles, originally owned, and pampered. I wanted an 07, but bought an 05 because of maintenance records and full history.

if I told you I had ocean front property in iowa would you believe me? no problems with my 04 what so ever, a guy I know has an 03 thats had issues but thats only because he is an idiot

its actually debatable that the 03/04s actually have better EGR coolers then the 05-07, coils are nice, body and interior dont really make a differance to me, I would see what you can get the best deal on with what milage
