transmssion issue

so i recently have noticed the when i put my truck in reverse it goes in pretty hard . every thing work fine and it only does it when the truck is warm. is something about to break? im going change my fluid to see if that helps?

I Would not change the fluid. I had the same thing happen to my stock trans, it would hesitate and then shift in real hard. I changes my fluid and filter and 8 miles later it gave. Had it rebuilt by a "reputable" shop and it lasted 5 months. This is why I have a BTS trans now.

I have been told that when our trans start hesitating and then shifting hard into R or D from park then you need to start saving cash very quickly. It has also been my experience.

2012 F250 Lariat CCSB FX4, Gooseneck and 5th wheel prep package, H&S Minimaxx, 5" AFE SS straight pipe, EGR delete with factory EGT sensor, 35" Toyo MT's on stock rims, and Bilstein 5160 shocks.

Really but it shifts all forward gears fine even at wot no problem at all.

Yea mine did too. That's why I thought it was BS but evidently it wasn't.

check the fluid and is pink and doesnt smell burnt.

I am not a Trans guru so IDK what is wrong with it. I just know that it is going down by my past experiences.
My BTS Trans cost me $6400 installed by TSD. Just to give you an idea of how much cash you need. It has a 3 year unconditional warranty. I will also add that a built Trans makes so much difference in performance. When my TC locks you better have it pointed straight in the right direction, if you don't you will get sideways.

Oh i see, wait for the shudder in reverse. But yeah like stated above, new trans in your future. I would recommend a stock 5r with under 80k probably looking at $1k to $1200 installed, $700-800 for the trans itself, maybe a little less. I'd skip bts cuz of the wait imo, unless you can, and look into warren diesel trans built by Andy Warren I think. Patrickk@KEM can help there. Not sure on a wait time there.

I'm on my 3rd 5r, these things are pretty stout. Look at Nate, DD w/600hp. I'd go through 3 or 4 stockers before spending thousands on a built trans, jmo of course.
