What to do with my new truck
I'm new to the forum and new to my truck so help me out please. I just purchased my first diesel and am trying to do the right things. I have an '05 F250 King Ranch 4x4 with the 6.0 PS. I use it to pull a 7,000 lb car hauler on roughly a weekly basis and as a daily driver the rest of the time. My truck is all stock....no mods and no upgrades. I eventually plan on doing head gaskets, studs and probably egr delete pretty soon. In the mean time, what do y'all recommend for upgrades to improve fuel economy, power and durability of the engine and what is your opinion on order of importance? Don't know my budget exactly but nothing too crazy just yet. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks guys

![]() Coolant filter, a synthetic oil, regular filter changes, free flowing exhaust, and something to monitor engine temps. |

jesilvas, would you recommend straight pipes or turbo cat and muffler?? and why

Free flowing as in no cat if you can legally get away with it, and the muffler is up to you. I wanted one, but just barely. So I got a Walker BTM, which is free flowing, just has some sound deadening in it.

I suggest buying a monitor first, then a coolant filter, and check your fuel pressure. Evening else is a moog point if you are not monitoring the health of your 6.0. Read the stickies.
Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get. |
