how do i know what stock turbo i have

what is the split for the 03 vs 04.5, are there p/n i can see. my truck whistles pretty good and the build date is 2-04.

Your intake manifold is a good indication. If it has the cross over in the back you have an 03 engine and 03 turbo. The 04 turbo and pedestal will not fit with the old style intake in place.

Now if you suspect that it still may be an 03 turbo regardless of the intake you're going to have to find the rear turbo mounting bolt and see if it's horizontal or vertical. The 03 has a horizontal rear bolt that's going in from the back.

It's a lot easier to look and see if your icp sensor is in the right hand valve cover. If its not,it's an '03 engine.

Red circle is the late 04-07 turbo rear bolt location. Blue circle is the 03 turbo rear bolt location.

thanks guys i got a 04.5 so i geuss i'll be getting a madd turbo instead of trying the bat wheel
