Life with out mods?

Hello all, I have a 2006 F350. 120k miles. I have on my wish list the delete kit, blue springs, Apr studs. But I was wondering if anyone has done with out the mods, and made there truck last the test of time. Or if you want to reach 500k miles is this something that must be done? I do not do alot of heavy towing, or raceing, But for a every day driver, Do we have to have it done? Thanks Steve..

ive got a 2005 f350 drw service truck with about the same milage. ive done none of the bullet proffing on this truck yet. my last truck was an 04 srw and the egr cooler went. personally i would wait till something goes and do the whole thing in one shot. dont fix what aint broke, but get a monitor so you know whats going on. just my 0.02 cents.

I went with out mods (aside from coolant filter) for 100,000 miles. Around 85,000 is when my 6.0 starting leaking oil like the Valdez from various places. Since then I've added sct with custom tuning and haven't looked back since.

There are a few basic things that should be done, I wouldnt call them mods, but preventative maintenance. The reason is, they will fail or cause chain reaction damage, when it is least convienant. Coolant filter, flush with distilled water and refill with elc, blue spring update, updated hfcm drain plug, and monitor.

I already have the insight, the fcim ready 49.5 steady. The cat ec-1 is already on my upcoming list of stuff to do. along with going to all synthetic oil.

My 'bullet-proofing' has been done as needed. coolant filter at 80k miles.head gaskets at 85k miles. stcs,IPR at the same time. BPD egr cooler, radiator and serpentine belt at 141k miles. Normal service at recommended intervals or better. Currently at 145,600 miles, and running well. It's a daily driver and weighing around 16,000 with both tanks full. No towing, but loaded with a service body. I am very late to this forum, and it's wisdom, having bought my truck in Nov 2004. Learning fast, though. Very grateful y'all are here!
Best of luck with your 350
