Friend is looking at a 6.0
It is an '05 CCSB 4x4
I told him before he signs anything to tell me so I can come up and plug my monitor and make sure it is "healthy" and to get an oasis report. I sent him the link things to know about owning a 6.0. he doesnt really tow anything big. jekski occasional wakeboard boat so the 6.0 may overkill. He is not the best at maintence and I know that the truck lives and dies by this. any advice? i have a bad gut feeling, but me may be just fine. |

If thats what he wants it his money, I would just help him make sure everything checks out good and ride his *** about getting on the org and learning about his truck (if he gets it). I just went through this with a good friend of mine and im still trying to stress to him about a monitoring system instead of an aftermarket radio. But hey if thier not willing to take the steps to prevent big probs, its still thier money to fix those issues down the road lol. Just my opinion ofcourse

I agree. I just dont want him to be mis informed like I was. the first 5 months I had mine it was in the shop a ton.

He's lucky to have a friend that's able to steer him in the right direction... as long as he's willing to listen.

Ford ended up putting in a new motor, turbo, injectors, blah blah blah. Bill was 22,876 and warranty covered ENTIRE thing

If I had a friend who was poor at maintenance I would steer him clear of a 6.0. Too many things can go wrong or have the potential to go wrong.
I have in fact directed friends to gas trucks when they became infatuated with buying a diesel. And actually for myself, my 2006 at a 142k miles has only had the FICM start to fail. The turbo went out years ago when it was under warranty. Dealer maintained except for oil changes. ![]() Still the 6.0 is a beast I am very careful about recommending to anyone never mind someone who is not much into maintenance. |

this is my second 6.0. first one got totalled by a guy in a chevy. but you got to do sh*t to keep her happy like buying your wife a card and flowers on her birthday. start skimping and the relationship will head south right away.

he is stuck on a 6.0 becuase of how mine runs. I got very lucky that warranty did all that it did. He just sees how mine runs and he wants one with out thinking about all I went through to get it like this
