icp number very low on looney wild!!!!!!
i have been chasing a surging/sputtering problem for a few weeks. fuel pres sure around 50 psi at wot..pulled icp and checked.connection looked very clean.i am down 3-5 mpg, and about half the power! icp number maxes out at app. 1550 psi.. at wot. thats when it starts sputtering, and farting thru intake.considerably lot more smoke present.ficm voltage hovering around 47-49 volts.took looney wild out.and i returned truck back to stock earlier. icp numbers max out at 3,900 now! i still feel a very slight sputter at wot. only because i know how the truck acted on looney wild.i have had 3 injectors changed at 90,000 and 110,000 miles....at 155,000 now..i am on list at warrens for 8 new 155's.. i just dont undestand the low icp numbers on loone.the truck was running like a scalded ape for 6 months, with no complaints

Your FICM looks to be good. As in your own testing shows it may be the tune. How are you reading your HPOP? Some tunes/tuners trick the systemto think pressures are lower than they are. Back in the stone ages we had to install resistors and caps to trick the PCMs.

I see you have EGR delete, so I won't say to look at the EGR valve. Your turbo vanes may be sticking. If on stock you see 3900 PSI on your HPOP system, that would tell me that system is good also. A surge or hunting is normally indicative of a bad ICP or harness (more so on the 03's). I would look at the tune again if everything else is OK. On looking at your signature, why was a new ICP put in?

I didn't realize I put Icp..the ipr was changed when head gaskets were done..had some trash on the screen. Easy to change with turbo off..I have to figure out the problem soon!! STOCK SUCKS!!!!!

little off topic, but how do you check icp pressure with your insight? mine just reads icp voltage...

Your HPOP is fine and what you are seeing is pretty normal for a tuned truck. It is a trick used to get the IPR to go full bore.
I recently saw a post from someone with similar issues that nobody could resolve including several attempts by his dealer. Turned out to be a bad wire in his MAF connector. Fixed that and all his problems went away. Something you might want to check if you're stumped. |

I am relieved that the hpop is ok..I will try to find thread about map wire problem.is there any way to test map sensor? Or monitor readings?

Well I would take a second look at your ICP and connection.

I took Icp off earlier. Connector and 3 electrical blades were very clean. Is there any way to test it?
