Why is it so hard to find good EC-1 coolant? Geez

I have spent no less than five hours looking for Delo or Cat ec-1 coolant near where I live in Orange County, CA. I've called truck stops, and even a dealer on the International parts locator page. I've tried Napa, and looked online for a way to buy it online and have it shipped.

How the hell do they sell the stuff?

I may end up going with the Zerex ec-1 stuff, since it seems to be good. (Valvoline.com > Products > Zerex > Antifreeze Zerex > Zerex® Extended Life Antifreeze / Coolant) But, I'd prefer the Delo Extended Life Coolant/Antifreeze PG, or the CAT ec-1. But, I guess I'll take what I can get at this point.

Anyone know where to buy any of those two online? Maybe I'm lazy, but I don't feel like driving an hour away or more to try to find it, and of course, all of the ones within an hour are closed on weekends.

Hey airborne... Try Gemplers online. It's like a grainger. I've purchased the Zerex through these guys a couple times and they're cheap and quick. This stuff is the concentrate that you need to mix with distilled water. What makes Zerex nice is that it's relatively easy to get should you ever need more down the road.

Sounds like Zerex ec-1 is pretty good, and good point about the availability, should I need it on the road.

Thanks for the input, sorry if I was a little bit crabby.

Here is a list of ELC's that would work:

• CAT HD ELC
• Fleetrite HD ELC (International's brand)
• Rotella HD ELC
• Prestone HD ELC
• Zerex Extreme HD ELC
• Chevron/Texaco/Delo

ELC Coolant

Napa's distribution center in Fontana has a retail store and they have alot of hard to find products including a variety of ELC coolants.I was there last week and for sure saw the ZEREX ELC.

They are on the border of Ontario and Fontana. 11710 Pacific Avenue Fontana
