Codes not showing?

Hey everybody, just recently I noticed that my edge insight picks up my codes on my truck. When I tried using a scanner, nothing shows up? I have no check engine light on, but it lights up everytime I start the vehicle so I know there is a lightbulb in it. I'm a little confused on why my scanner is not picking up my codes, and my edge is. Any help? Thanks.

There is an option on the edge to clear codes on start, it might be clearing the codes before you get a chance to look at them with your scanner.

Some scanners do not pick up "soft" codes, or "pending codes". Some codes will not set the "CEL" until it reaches a certain parameter of faults.

I had one that would keep showing on my SGII "DTC Count" Xgauge, yet, the SGII would not show me which code it was.

My Torque APP for my phone did pick it up.

If what you are seeing is true, Edge picks up "Soft" codes. Good deal!
