Edge Insight
I ordered an Edge Insight CTS and it came in the mail today. Going to install it tonight and just looking to see if there is somewhere that has a list of the PID's and the values they are supposed to have. No use for the monitoring system if I don't know what the ranges of acceptable values are. Thanks

I've covered most of this in my Monitoring thread:
Write Up: Monitoring the 6.0L PSD. Any questions, let me know |

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks. What are the eight parameters you like to watch? Are you keeping them the same all the time or cycling so view different PID's based on situation?

Here's my following set ups, mind you I have 5 other gauges for things, so not everything is covered. I have also included how I would work a Insight only bit at the end for you:
If I'm testing a new modification, I'll pull up 8 PIDS that will best show the gains or loss of that modification. Normal Driving, here's my Insight: IAT; Boost Eng. Load; ICP Press.; Injector PW ECT; EOT; FICM Voltage Towing, my display: VGT Duty Cycle; Gear & TCC Eng. Load; ICP Press.; Trans Temp ECT; EOT; FICM Voltage If I was running an Insight-only setup: Boost; EGT Fuel Press.; ICP Press; Trans Temp ECT; EOT; FICM Voltage This is from my Build Thread linked below, glad I could be of help. |

One more question, what is IAT? havent heard that one yet. I just moved up from a 6.9L so lots of new information to learn. Thanks again, you were a lot of help.

Intake Air Temp, on my '07 it displays close to ambient.
If something comes to mind, don't hesitate to ask. |

Will do, installing it tonight so hopefully no surprises.

Ok I got it in and just drove around to see some numbers. FICM is pretty steady at 48.5, saw it get as low as 46 but only for like a second. I got on the freeway and set cruise control to 65 and EOT/ECT was about 190-192/184-186. then I went up a big hill and EOT went to 196 and ECT up to around 188. EOT seems to be a bit more steady and doesn't fluctuate as much as ECT. After going up hill it stayed at 196 while ECT dropped back down to mid 180s. That was the largest delta. Is this normal or an I clogged up? Also, is that low for ECT? Need a thermostat? Thanks
Oh yeah, ICP gets up to around 3950 at WOT and about 580 at idle. trans temp stayed about 150 and battery hovered between 13.3-13.4 while running and 12.2-12.3 with key on engine off. What do you guys think about those numbers? |

ECT is a little low, install a new Motorcraft thermostat and re-test deltas.
Keep an eye in FICM volts, 46v for a second is iffy. Did you check FICM volts while cranking the motor? Other temps/psi look good. |

Thats what I thought. Do you have to drain the coolant to install a new thermostat? If not, I will do that tomorrow. The highest EOT I was able to get was 196 and that was during a full throttle hill climb. I also ran the diagnostic test and had three codes, two of them were about injector balancing. Cylinders one and three and a low turbo boost. A few weeks ago I got low fuel and the truck ended up dying. I wonder if these codes are from that. The truck runs fine and has plenty of power. Any thoughts? Thanks
