Help

Hi,

I have a 06 6.0. Wouldn't start. Checked ficm. Was dropping voltage. Put new one in, and voltage holds. Now you can even hear the injectors clicking key on engine off. Cranked and cranked. Still no start. No smoke out of exhaust. Tried hitting it with brake cleaner and either both. No start still. Bought 2 new batteries due to the others being trash. Any suggestions

You need to get some sort of monitor in this truck for anyone to be able to help. Sounds like a HPO leak but without a monitor there is no telling. Get a ScangaugeII or Edge Insight CS/CTS or if you have an iPhone/iPod touch/iPad then you can order a Dashboss setup the edge and dashboss will monitor the ICP pressure you need to know if your reaching 500 psi or not. If your hitting under 500 psi then you have a HPO leak.

Okay. I hooked up a genesis system to it. HPOP was only producing 25-30 psi of pressure at a mAx. It was calling for 1000. Sounds like I need a HPOP wouldn't ya say?

Sounds like you don't have enough pressure/aren't reading correct pressure for some reason.

This is what I found when tearing apart. It smells like old oil(the residue). Pulled the front 2 plugs and both of them had blown out o rings

Pics are small, but that would cause problems.

Yeah buy a new hpop, ipr valve, stc fitting, and new stand pipes and do it all at once. Instead of ripping it apart and putting it back together and ripping it apart and putting it back together. Chasing a hpo leak is a daunting task and can get very discouraging. Whatever parts you don't use then send them back for a refund.

It's an 06, not a big hpop problem on those trucks I thought? Did you bother trying the hpop leak test?
