I have a brake fluid leak between the Frame and fuel tank on driver side. Is their a easy way to get to it and what are some possible solutions?
Thanks |

This happened to me while coming home from vacation in South Carolina. It was a Sunday and I had to get someone to help me. Here's what he did. Bought a new straight line (actually bought 2 of them and joined them together). Broke the line where it terminates near the rear axle so he could get the end out. Ran the new line to the back, then spliced it into a good portion of the existing line. Clear as mud right?

There is no simple way to get to it, last one I did was on a cab and chassis and it was still a pita,

Thanks, I got the line out and in the morning going to cut out bad part and join in a new section of tubing. Any tips on bleeding the line after reinstalled?

I would just replace the whole line, you can get a 25' roll of brake line for like $60. And you only have to double flair the line twice

I had the same problem on my OBS F150. I thought about buying the 25' roll to save me from more double flares as they are somewhat tricky. I ended up buying 2 pre-flared lines at advance and only had to run it from the rear axle to around the transfer case. Was kinda worried at first by having another union in there for possible leaks but considering it was pre-flared I knew it would seal tight. I would check into those lines because you still only have to flare twice and you don't have to fish a whole new line down the rail.
