TFT Sensor Replacement. Writeup

A little writeup on replacing a trans fluid temps sensor in a 5R110.

If your seeing this and your trans is not actually overheating, or its jumping all over, its time

You will need

9-10 Qts of MERCONŽ LV $63
And a new ford TFT sensor $15

Get yourself a drain pan (you'll get about 9 qts out) and pull the plug(1/2" socket) let it drain for 10 min, the longer you wait the less mess your going to have.

Start taking out the pan bolts (10mm) Anytime im working on a trans with a reusable pan gasket i all ways take out every other bolt.

Pull the pan off carefully. The TFT sensor is located in the green circle

Unplug it, rotate it cc and then pull down. some fluid will come out so get out of the way!

Just the opposite for the new one. push it in and rotate it cw, and plug it back in.

Wipe off the pan gasket and surface on the trans, and put it back on. torque them to 11Ft lbs. Refill the trans fluid. (mine took right at 9 Qts)

Done!
