Re-torq Head bolts after gasket change??
I was visiting a buddy the other night when another buddy of his dropped by. He asked if that was my big superduty outside and we started talking about the engine. He is a race car mechanic and suggested re-torqing the head bolts after I explained how I was unhappy about the dealer not letting me give him head studs to install. Anybody else done this after replacing the head gaskets with Ford studs?

i know they are torque to yeild bolts that are supposed to 'stretch' as u tighten so if u go beyond the limit they are supposed to be at u would lose stregth considerably.so id say dont do it

Just torque them and take it back when you blow the gaskests again and then say "Now this time are you going to put in the stronger bolts?"
