Rear Gear Information

Gentlemen/Ladies,
I have a 2006 F350 Super duty 6.0L Dually 4X4. I was under the rear end of it today looking around and spotted the metal tag on the rear gear area. It said 4 - 10 and then below that 4 30. Can someone who has more knowledge than I explain this to me please.

Thank You,

Mike

Were the numbers all factory stamped? I would think you had 4.10's unless you have the Tow Boss package or someone changed them. Check the front diff for a tag, they should be the same ratio.

The TowBoss package would have had an 4.30LS. Axle code on the sticker should be 4L.

If you are still running stock 245/75R17 tires, your 60mph rpm should be right at 2,000.

I also have that package, and I like it.

Thanks for the replies. Only mods are egr delete and blue spring, i tow a 13.5K 5th wheel and have no problem moving it.
Took it for a ride today - at right on 60mph it was dead on 2000.

Thanks again,

Mike

These things can tow, zero complaints from me as well.

Should you start modifying it, shoot me a PM, I'll let you know what has worked for me. (Tuning got me a lot of fuel economy)
