abbreviations....

I am new to all this, was wondering if someone could help me out with understanding all the abbreviations such as EOT, FICM, HPOP, PCM, ECM and any others that you might think of, please fill me in and how they apply to the performace modifaction of the vehicle. I enjoy reading, but get lost in the thread when abb. like these come up. Thanks.
