HIDs with automatic head lights not working?

Hey guys got my DDM tuning 35w hids hooked up. I always have the automatic head light setting turned on. When i first turn the key both headlights will turn on then when i finally turn the truck over the passenger will go out? This happened maybe 1/4 the time the first few days now that they've been in for almost 2 weeks it happens every time. I find myself having to turn the lights off then on again every time i use them.

I don't think it has anything to do with the HIDs as my stock headlights are doing similar things. Hit the remote start both headlights will come on and as soon as I stick the key in and put it in gear the passenger headlight goes out. There are the odd times it will stay on and also switching it to manual "on" has no effect. In the beginning it was an intermittent problem but now it happens like 98% of the time. Also the daytime running lights feature stopped working. Weird.

Yeah its strange as soon as it starts cranking over it flickers and dies as soon as she fires up.

I have always been told that HIDs won't work on the automatic light setting. Mine does same thing. They always work when I turn them on manually. I have owned prob 4-5 sets on my different vehicles, and they never work on the automatic setting.

Mine work fine in the auto setting in all my trucks. Do you have a relay on them? If not put one on them! It will fix your problem. When your truck is turning over, your lights do not have 100% power to them. A relay will fix this.

If you have HIDs in your fogs they will go out too unless you have a relay.

I had HIDs (head and fog)in my Harley truck for over 3 1/2 years with relays. I kept it in auto the whole time and never had one flicker or go out.

Mine work fine and I run the DDM 55w I. The headlamps and the 35w in the fogs. Which ballast do you have? It has been my experience that the digital slims have wayyyy less issues.

No problems with mine at all...

Might just be dumb luck. I had issues prior to using the relay. After I installed it all the issue went away.

well, could be the fix if you have issues. did you have the digital slim ballast or the big blocks?
