EGT Temps?

So I installed a SCT Livewire with EGT readout and drilled and tapped my drivers side manifold. The only thing I'm wondering is it seems everyone is getting 1000* + when laying into the accelerator. Im only seeing 600's on occasion after running her hard. Im running the Looney tune from Vivian. I also noticed it seems to run hotter when in stock tune?

Where is your EGT probe mounted?

Drivers side manifold at the back of the manifold. Used the location everyone seems to use.

Interesting, did you modify the cable at all during installation.

My only other guess, is maybe you have a bad probe.

No mods at all. The only thing I can think is maybe i didn't slide the probe far enough through the compression fitting?

How do the temps read before starting? Does it match EOT, ECT, etc?

Any chance it is reading C instead of F?

I'm also running a livewire and looney tune. Mine never matches EOT or ECT on startup. It always starts out on 32 degrees even if it's 100 outside. Otherwise it seems normal. I easily see 12-1300 on hard accel until I back out.

Check the probe's location first, then check if there is a setting you've missed on your SCT Livewire.

Thanks for the advice guys. Ill check the settings and see if sliding the probe in further makes a difference?
