Time to tune
Now I know this topic gets beaten to death but I couldn't really find much info on what I am looking for. Does anybody have any experience with River City Diesels tuning for a 6.0? They are only about 15 min. away from me so I was thinking about giving their tuning a shot. What other tunes should I look at? Im not trying to lift the heads but I would like to get a little bit more power

I have heard some people say they like there tuning but its not that powerful some have had shifting issues. Myself I run IDPs tunes and run on the track and for a 7300lb truck on a tune ran a 13.7. Someday I going to get race tunes from TSD, Gearhead and Quick tricks and run all them and see what times I can get

I would say proximity isn't as important on tuning as it would be on actual repairs unless you're getting actual dyno tunes.

alright ive been looking at innovative and whats the hottest tune of theirs that will still be relatively safe with stock head bolts and an egr delete? How do their tunes compare to SRL or the looney tune?

That said, I have always wanted to try Matt's SRL tune. I've been tuned for 20k miles and hit 142k on the clock this week. As for "not gonna blow your gaskets" you have to get over that. The way I look at it, some 6.0s blow up stock and some tuned. Tuned is wayyyyy more fun to drive. I have set aside the $4000 when I need to overhaul the truck and know who I want to do it. If it ain't broke don't fix it IMO. I just watch my gauges and have alarms set so that I'm not a complete idiot

my problem is that im not too great at saving, so I dont have that money set aside lol. So I'm trying to keep it some what safe. I cant decide if I want to spend the extra 80 to get the extreme files when the looney or srl might be better than xstreet

Extreme Street, SRL, panty dropper, and Looney are all comparable tunes from the popular tuners.
Extreme race, SRL+, super panty dropper, and looney wild are all comparable tunes for studded trucks... even though people with big balls run them on stock tunes (these are people with viewpoints like F250SixOH) Many guys in my state are crazy and run studded tunes on their unstudded trucks just fine... I am not but probably would too if I fell for it and paid money for another tune

Well I got my truck custom tuned from rcd and can tell you that on their 120hp economy tune drives like a dream has plenty o power and snappy response. That said they also have 170 hp extreme race tune that is completely setup for going down the quarter mile I would def not recommend that tune for a dd it's not fun to drive that tune on the road. Josh does an excellent job writing trans tune files for these trucks. Also my buddy has a 2003 6.0 cc 4x4 short bed and I got the same only it's an 05 only difference in mods is his is studded and not deleted yet and mines non studded and has the delete all other mods are the same. We lined them up multiple time with 4x4 and 2x4 boosted and non boosted launches and he's got the extreme race from innovative and I had my 120 hp economy tune loaded up and I smoked the sh!t out of him every time.
