Egr cooler

Hey guys when I removed my egr cooler I looked inside of it and it had tubes not fins. BTW its a 03. I was wondering if i have a bpd cooler or not.

That is the early factory 03 egr mine is the same finned ones are later and Ive heard they gave more problems choking up

If you have it removed carefully put 20psi on the water side, and stick it in a bucket of water.

Mine was leaking and it pressure tested good on the bench, cold. Put a rose bud to it for a minute and the pressure started to drop, just like a bad water cooled exhaust manifold.
