Tranny question
My buddy has a build tranny from some company I don't know, j something or other in his 06 that he said I could have if I paid the swap fee from his to my 03 vice versa. I know that the 6.0 years are the 5r but was anything different that would make a straight swap not happen?

No. but I would figure out who built it and what was done to it before installing, jmo.

Here is the only J that comes to mind John Wood Automotive - Home
or Maybe it's Jose's transmission in Tijuana ? LOL |

All 6.0L autos were 5R110 transmissions, there is quite a difference though between the tailhousings on the 2x4 model vs. the 4x4.
You need to know who built it and what was done to it though before you bolt it into your truck. I wouldn't swap a transmission unless I knew what it was. |

Colo your right and wrong lol they were both 5R110's but the 05 and up have a 5 speed with overdrive auto and the 03-04 have a 4 speed with overdrive so they aren't entirely the same.

I don't agree with you on this one. As colo said, if you do have documentation, please post it because everythig I have seen says they are the same.
