SO, I'm fairly confident my oil cooler is plugged. Over the past month I've seen my temp delta hang between 20* and 30*. A typical day, EOT is 220 and ECT is 195. This is while doing the textbook TSB test procedure.
While towing with 5000lbs I've been seeing EOT rise to the 245-250* mark while ECT NEVER gets above 210. Fans kick in and drops it down right away. Usually just hovers right around 200*.
So I feel fairly confident in the rest of my truck operating as it should.
So what should I do next? I have a repaired FICM with Atlas 40 tune and I've added an Edge CTS with pyro. That's it. Its stock.
My thoughts are to do the coolant flush, backflush the cooler and see if I can buy some time. If nothing else I will do a thorough cleaning before replacing the oil cooler. I'll add a coolant filter in the process.
Am I on the right path? Should I be checking anything else?
