oil seal

can the front oil seal go bad a chew up the crank ?? 2004 6.0 Thanks Dave

lip seals can definitely score a shaft, but I don't know about that application. Im sure somebody will know.

The replacement Ford seal comes with a Sleeve:

3C3Z-6700-BA Kit;Includes Crankshaft Wear Sleeve, From: 07/19/2004 To: 02/12/2010 2005/2010

You need to replace the lower pulley bolts as they are TTY.
Also some loctite 262 on the front edge of the crankshaft before the sleeve goes on or it will leak.
