I recently had my truck studded, egr delete, coolant filtration system, regulated return, etc. Still running stock turbo and injectors. I figured i would have my ficm tuned to i put the atlas 40 on it. Ever since then it seems like the truck smokes alot worse and has higher egts under wot and just overall. Im running looney, i switched to extreme street and its not as bad but still smokerier and higher egts than before. Any suggestions? Considering going back to stock ficm setup. Or should i talk with the tuning companies and see if they can rewrite the tunes to adapt to the ficm being hot now? As of now im not seeing any benefit of ficm tuning if anything it hurt my truck!

PCM tuning is what you need to work on first.

How old are your ECM files? How much hotter are you running?

My ecm tunes are around 3 years old. I got them when i first got the truck. The ficm is tuned with the atlas 40. Power seems to be there but egts are what concerns me. Looney is a smokey tune anyways but now with the atlas 40 i could put a vp cummins to shame during a launch. EGT's wilol hit 1500 from a dead stop to around 60-70mph if you drop the hammer to the floor and stay there. xtreme street is better but still smokerier than before. Hits 1500 at wot at around the same mph but seems to fall off after that. The shop where i had my work done swears it ran alot better with the stock ficm. So he sent a stock ficm with me to try if i want.

At cruising speed egts are about the same around 600 on flat ground, maybe 800 to 850 going up a hill at 60-70. It just concerns me how fast they come up when you give it throttle.
