Road Trip!!! Few ?'s
So im going on a little road trip to Florida the 13th. We all came to the conclusion pretty quick that were going to take my truck
Its going to be 1300 ish miles one way.So what should i do to prepare? I changed my fuel filters 1k ago so those are good, (Going to throw a set in the tool box just in case) Im going to change my oil before i leave since it will be due by then. Oh and i carry lots of tools so im good there ![]() ![]() Anything else i should do? I was hoping to have a MTW stage 2 before i left. But this is gonna be a hell of an expensive trip. Im going to run my dd tune SRL-X. im curious what my mileage is going to be loaded down with me, my buddy and 2 girls. you can imagine how much luggage we will have lol |

I always just carry basic tooks, jack, and my gun. I now carry a spare fuel filter cap and oil filter cap. Only reason why is cause I replaced them so old ones ride in back. Its hard to carry everything. Otherwise there would be injectors, FICM, Turbo, alt, everything.
I am driving to Sarasota myself this month from Pittsburgh.... |

Throw some of your fluids in there... Oil trans and coolant.. Just in case. Also i would make sure you have tire slime..or that foam stuff that helps if you get a flat and need to limp it somewhere...

Alt is only 6 months old, cleaned my turbo 5k ago.
Frogot to mention, I keep a gal of coolant and oil behind my back seat at all times I know the trips a few weeks away, just trying to get prepared early lol Gonna be the first real road trip of my life, well without adult supervision lol Sent from my iPhone |

Just get in, turn the key and drive...
I will sell the truck the day i feel like i need to haul around a bunch of crap with me to go on a short drive in my truck when not pulling anything. When im towing its a different story...then its good to be prepared. Jason |

I just did almost 1500 miles in my truck, driving to Indy and back, so only 700 miles each way.
stock tune returned 21.5mph even running up the mountains from the coast and then back over them to get home, 70mph there, was flying on my way back and had the cruise on 80. Hopefully your truck returns something similar! Jason |

right now i'm in the middle of a 5500 miles road trip towing a car to UT and a truck back from WI.
beside what you have. a floor or bottle jack is nice, a spare belt, spare sensors (i run a 7.3 and carry 2 CPSs and an IDM). a tow chain or strap is always a good idea. and something to occupy the passengers on the long trip |

i just put a new belt on also when i did my studs.
Im driving straight there. so yea everyone's going to be bored as crap im sure. im not sure on what the speed limits are. hopefully 70+. i know when i go to Colorado i can set the cruse at 90 and i still get passed hoping to get around 20 mpg. with just me in the truck i can get 22. but full and 4 people im hoping for 20
