HELP me spend some money

I just bought a 2003 F250 6.0 with 151k miles on it and an engine code popped - was told it's the EGR.

I had a 2005 and this one does not seem as powerful.

My 2005 also had a BANKS turbo back, Volant intake and SCT tuner (I ordered that one new)

What do I need to do to this one first?

A egr delete and a cts or cs monitor that is first even before you put that programmer on. Everyone will agree.

The first thing you need to do is do a search in the upper left portion of this window where it says "Google Custom Search". There are countless threads on what a new 6 liter owner should look into doing and you're going to have to decide for yourself what direction you'll want to go with your truck. Without a doubt, the concensus will be to delete the EGR, swap out your coolant with ELC, get some custom SCT tunes, and get a monitoring system to see what the condition of your oil cooler is and other parameters. You also need to see what's up with your EGR. If it's bad and is flashing-boiling your coolant, you run the risk of warping the heads and blowing the HG's and then you're talking $$'s to get it fixed.

Tuning is probably the biggest difference you are feeling now.
The EGR delete isn't always your best option, depending on local emissions enforcement and your performance. I'd recommend doing a upgraded unit or blocked cooler from BPD.

Here's the three threads on this forum I would start reading:

Things to consider about owning a 6.0L
Write Up: Bullet-Proofing the 6.0L PSD.
Write Up: Power Potential of the 6.0L PSD

Let us know what route you want to take.
