Where to buy an Intercooler boot?
I was driving home last night and heard air every time the truck built up boost. I took off the boot on the upper side by the turbo and there is an huge hole. Any one know where to get one?? Ford wants almost $90 just for the one boot.

If you had one boot go, the others may not be in the greatest condition anymore either. I recently installed Dieselsite boots on my 6.4 and they were great quality so I would recommend them. I have also heard good things about the boots from RiffRaff diesel.

I went with VP Max boots and they have been great, guaranteed not to absorb oils, make out of silicone good to 100psi

Had a similar issue with my boots. They havent blown but completely oil soaked and im all about preventative maintenance.
Had the diesel site ones in my cart for around 350 for the whole set. Decided to research around on here and found complaints of the inner silicone degrading and being blown through the piping. Just google "why i do not recommend diesel site turbo boots" another member had said so i did and saved myself 200 bucks and ordered them from riff raff with new clamps an everything for around 150 shipped. Havent seen any complaints on his boots what so ever. |

About to order the riff raff boots and was wondering if I should order the clamps too or just re-use the clamps on the stock boots?
Thoughts? |

I replaced mine this week too. I just went back with the OEM boots.
Called one dealer and he wanted $90 a piece also. So I was thinking of going with aftermarket too. Well, I called another dealer and he only wanted around $75 a piece for them. So that was only $150 total, which isn't much more than the cost for 1 of the aftermarket boots. I figure the stock ones lasted me for 100k so if these last another 100k I'll be happy. And with all the 100k maintenance I'm doing to my truck right now that extra $ saved will help towards the other stuff. |
