Am I Forgetting anything?

I ordered all my parts from tousley today for my oil cooler replacement/egr delete. I ordered the following

Oil cooler rebuild kit
2 intake gaskets
Turbo mounting hardware
Fuel regulator spring kit
Updated oil drain line
6.4 banjo bolts
4 banjo washers
Egr delete on the way as well
Fleet guard elc cat ec1 coolant
Distilled water

I didn't order the new hard line turbo oil supply linr because I did not order the new oil cooler cover being mine is a early 04 and I had to update that as well.

Am I forgettin anything? Any advice before I start this task. I'm actually looking forward to it because I know I will learn a lot as I see different parts of the Motor. Where can I find the torque specs for bolts I will be pulling out? Thanks

You may want to do the stand pipes and dummy plugs while you are tearing things apart.

I would also replace the IPR screen while you are in there.

And I would advise HIGHLY that you get some restore and restore plus and flush THOROUGHLY before you pull the oil cooler and put in ELC coolant.

Lastly a coolant filter wouldnt be a bad investment.

Good luck!!

Todd

My truck is an 04 so I don't have to do stand pipes and dummy plugs i didn't think. I wasn't aware I need a ipr screen? Is something that has to be done just preference? I put in my order. Guess I could call tousley back. I'm working on findig the restore and vc9 as well as coolant filter. I have everything to make my own but trying to find the filter and filter head. Thanks for the advice

check the HPOP screen while your there as well, easier to just replace since you will be looking at it.

Yes the 04 has stand pipe and dummy plugs as far as I know. I think the 03 was different though.

The thing I dont think you need is the STC fitting that was an 05 up deal.

The IPR screen is preference but I am having mine replaced for good measure while its in the shop. I am going through all of this right now

Is this what the oil cooler sits on top of? My oil cooler kit came with a screen but I'm guessing its or the cooler itself. Do I pour in oil to the hpop before I put it back together?

It's a early 04 which has the 03 motor and to my knowledge I don't have to worry about them? Not doubting you at all. Anyone else care to chime in?

From what I've read if the icp sensor isnt on the valve cover, which mine is not, you don't need to update stand pipes. Dummy plugs aren't necessary either. Would love to hear others chime in on this

You are correct - your truck just said 04 so I assumed it was in need of the new parts as 04-07 needs it done, or should have it done.

Good luck - sounds like you have researched most of it and are ready to tackle it
