opposite. CJ4 covers CI4+, but CI4+ is not CJ4 rated.

CJ4 was developed for ultra low sulphur/DPF vehicles, it has less ZDDP than CI4+ that it "replaces"

So while it meets the "necessary" criteria for use in older vehicles/engines, it's not necessarily better for them. It's actually worse.

And when/if they come out with this new oil standard for newer vehicles, it may or may not be better/worse for older engines. BUT, you'll still be able to get the same oil you've been running in your older truck. My point is that 15w40 CI4+ and CJ4 oils aren't going anywhere any time soon.
