Need advice and suggestions!
Ok, so I have had my truck now for two full weeks, been driving every weekday and some on the weekends. I even took it on a 4 hour trip to Va Beach. After I got my coolant filter with pressure gauge installed, and my scan gauge II, I did the 55 to 65MPH unloaded delta test and highest I peaked at was 8*. EOT was 202 and ECT was 194. Seems normal to me. I have not notice anything oil in coolant or coolant in oil yet. I did the loaded test with WOT to check the coolant pressure. Not sure if what I was hearing was the degas bottle purging or not, pulled over to check pressure and it was at 11PSI, finished the trip home hard on the throttle got in the driveway and it was 15PSI. Checked the degas bottle for the white residue and there is none, also left the 15 psi in the system over night to check this morning to see if there was white smoke on start up and none as well. So now I am assuming I have bought a truck with bad HG's, even though it has not puked through the degas I am assuming it is a mile leak by. Do I even have a problem at this point? I have ordered a block check tester to confirm this. I did get a power train warranty with the truck but unsure if I did a claim if I can do ARP's or have to go factory. I will have to check into it.
Now, with all that be said, I would like information on places to get complete kits. I know that I need ARP studs, and OEM gaskets. But since I am doing this, I might as well upgrade the EGR cooler, and I have not made up my mind yet as to either replace with upgrade oil cooler or go with a bullet proof oil cooler. I would also like to finish the upgrades as to STC fitting for HPOP, oil lines for the turbo, dummy plugs and standpipes. I just completed blue spring and banjo bolts and CCV mod. I have been on a few sights, it kinda looks like I have to shop around and either call them to piece the exact kit I want and need versus buying a few kits and have left overs. Any help is appreciated.
