TonsTonsTonsTonsTonsTonsTonsTonsTonsTonsTons of threads about this. Use any coolant that has a Cat EC-1 rating.

You're going to get a lot of different answers. As long as its a ELC and you flush it properly you'll be ok. Do a search and you will find everything you need to know. Personally I use Cummins coolant, but I also get it at cost.

Not just an ELC. There's plenty of "ELC"s out there, but only one with a Cat EC-1 rating. Otherwise you're wasting time and money.

Some seem to think that the best of the current products is Rotella Ultra, followed closely by Delo, then the rest. Delo also has a nitrite-free EC-1 coolant which appears to follow the chemistry of the Rotella Ultra closely. I'm not aware of any test data which supports discrimination between any of the nitrite-organic hybrid EC-1 products. I suspect that differences in availability and brand preference are going to play greater roles in "who runs what" than anything else.

Not so. There are lots of ELC's with a Cat EC-1 rating. Zerex, Prestone, Rotella, Delo, Peak, Cat, Fleetguard, and lots of others are Cat EC-1 rated. Any of them will do but as L&B stated above the best is Rotella Ultra followed by Delo, then all the rest are pretty much equal.

As in lots of ELC's in general. Prestone has one called ELC. Other companies do. But only some have a Cat EC-1 rating. |

Absolutely. If it has a Cat EC-1 rating go ahead and use it. If it doesn't say it on the bottle very clearly it's the wrong stuff. You don't have to look in the small print to find out if it's EC-1 rated. If it is it will be displayed prominently on the bottle.
