3000km road trip results
Hey all. I recently returned from a trip up the Alaskan highway (destination Liard hot springs) via central Alberta. I was towing my ridiculous 13ft, single axle Scamper the whole way (terrible idea if anyone knows these roads!).
Truck performed just fine with a mildly loaded trailer. I climbed some pretty steep grades with it, hitting 220ect 230eot temps (was quite nervous about those temps but the fan brought it down good). I did shat my pants when the turbo inlet boot blew off because the tech didn't clamp it right! Anywho, 3200km is a testament to my stock engine and I've never been more happier with my 6.0! But does my consistent highway tow temps of 210ect and 218eot seem a little high? Even when I'm unloaded on the highway I see 206ect 212eot. Perhaps an improper coolant ratio? |

your temps seem to be like mine. 04 6.0 just had it worked on last summer, oil cooler BP egr, latest in ford tsb's. went to colorado over last 2 weeks going over wolf creek saw eot ect around 212-220. At 75-80 mph saw about 10-12 deg spread at 60-70 they were in in 8 deg max spread. I wasnt pulling anything.

Those temps are about the same as mine.

Maybe it's something revised in the newest strategy? I'm gonna do a ph test on the coolant too maybe it is the concentrate/water ratio?
