The Unthinkable Happened Tonight

I was pulling into my FD tonight to take care of some business, and as I'm rounding the corner into the lot, I heard something like a scratching noise. I thought it was something moving in my bed, So I got out and grabbed a flashlight and look at the rear passenger side, the bumper is fine, exhaust tip is fine and everything after the wheelwell is good, but what about ahead of the wheelwell, :rain: my heart sank into a deep dark hole, 4-5 2" X 14" SCRAPES all the way down to the metal:vomit:. I just couldnt believe it, I've gone around that corner hundreds of times and now the one time that I have to take a really Big $H!T, this ends up happening. I just got through w/ Progressive, and I know they are really going to screw me due to my claim for my offroad truck not more than 3 months ago. All I can do know is cry and get drunk by myself. I'll take some pics in the morn.

Man that sucks. Every once in awhile I will catch myself getting a little complacent with corners that I take all of the time and about whack one of the duals. Oh and I will drink a beer with ya in sorrow from 3000+ miles away.

Why would they screw you on this claim?? they don't care of you had a claim 3 months ago on another vehicle -- if they did they would drop you, otherwise they just raise your premium b/c of the higher risk..

(I am a former Progressive claims adjuster) so ask up if you have questions with what they are doing...

BUT -- I am gonna say it'll be a bed set back for repair/refinish, and probably just some body repair and repaint on that bedside with all the necessary R&I

If something sounds wacky when they give you an estimate (always best to go thru a network or service first or whatever that company calls it shop for the warranty) just shoot me a message and I can go over it with ya

sorry to hear about the luck bud, but they will get you fixed up and if not -- we'll do something about it

i just had a claim on my truck with progressive direct about a month ago. i took it to their "service center" and everything went smoothly. had my truck back early too ! !! !

i also had matt write me a "valet" tune for my sct that i loaded before i left my truck with them, because they drive it from the svc center to the body shop and back for you, and i didnt want anyone hot rodding it.

the valet file was about 30% total power, and there was no imput after about 1/4 throttle.. governed at 60mph max too !! the thing was such a slug it was almost comical trying to drive it ! !

ALWAYS let the insurance company take it or send you to one of their RECOMMENDED facilities -- they offer a warranty on the work and if its not right, they guarantee it to be right, so they have to make it right. If not, you have a HUGE leg to stand on..

otherwise, if you take it to your buddies shop cause he's the "best" in town -- and he screw's something up no matter how you think he won't, then the company can basically say it was your decision and they are not responsible for the work that shop did that wasn't up to par...
