I may need a new truck, 05 and up 6.0 or 6.4?

I'm new to the diesel world and bought a 05 F250 King Ranch cc in May. Not 2 months later some bastard just stole the thing Sunday morning..........The cops still have a week and a half before my insurance considers it gone and starts the process of cutting me a check. I know about some of the main issues with the 6.0 and did the full bullet proof oil cooler and egr cooler. Don't know much about the 6.4. I live in California soooooo nothing is going to be deleted. Which would you guys recommend? Truck is mostly for commuting, maybe towing one day once I get toys and not much on the sitting idling unless its stop and go traffic. Finances are going to keep me under 30k

Just posted in your 6.4L Thread.

With all emissions control equipment onboard, I'd take the 6.0L Hands Down.
The DPF crippled that 6.4L, the 6.0L weaknesses are solvable.

I know where there is a 2006 F350CC 4x4, SRW Lariat with only 4,000 miles on it for sale. A 90 year old guy bought it to tow an RV from Oregon to Arizona. Got to AZ and decided he didn't like towing an RV and had his son come and drive the rig back to Oregon for him, where it got parked in a shop. Not much later the owner passed away and his widow kept the truck. A friend of mine that is an upper end car dealer knew the widow and ended up buying the truck from her and has it for sale.

I know that low miles can be a bummer since it's out of the powertrain warranty and it wasn't driven enough to discover if there were any issues. Still though, if someone bought this truck and put a coolant filter on it after flushing it good and whatever else they wanted to do, it could be a pretty great truck. Can't imagine there are many with that low of miles. PM me if you are interested and I'll send you the contact info.

The Sheriff's department found it this morning...what I know with out actually seeing it first hand is its on three spare tires...bye bye 20"s on 35x nitto tires, ignition is all messed up, and dash has been torn out out to get the dvd navigation stereo...that's all I've been told over the phone by the tow yard. It's going to get towed to local Ford dealer to get checked, still a wait and see game...
