Programmer
Getting ready to take the plunge, and was wondering. Will a programmer on a stock 6.0, with EGR deleted, be harmful to its health. I mean will I start having injector issues or head gasket problems. Going with the SCT Live wire. Thanks

If you have weak fuel pressure, then you can have issues in stock tuning.
If you have overboost issues with a stuck unison ring, you can have gasket issues in stock tuning. Gotta make sure it's in working order before you tune. Well, you SHOULD at least. Reduces chances for problems tuned. |

The best setup out there is still an SCT X3 for tuning and an Edge Insight for monitoring. The SCT Livewire is a crappy monitor IMO. As far as safely tuning your truck it depends on how closely you monitor everything. As stated even stock trucks develop problems. There are tons of guys running pretty serious tunes without issue though.

This... Trust me I hate my livewire every time I have to turn it on after I turn on the truck. So stupid that it doesn't come on like the edge does.. And the damn thing is a second visor it's soooo big. Big fail on the SCT's part with these 2 issues.. |
