muffler mod

Just put the muffler back on today. It's almost too quiet now. Too damn loud on the highway and pulling a trailer before. It had a bad "drone" and was giving me a headache listening to it. I wish there was an inbetween i could do. Maybe just a single straight pipe vs. the duals??

Single pipe won't make a lot of difference though it will take the driver side exit out of the picture. You just need to find the right muffler for your personal taste.

Just loaded the full fuel tune and took it out for a spin. Might of lost a little throttle response if any at all. (couldn't really tell) Definitely less annoying during wot. Think it's gonna stay for a while. However, i do miss the whistle/jet engine sound when idling.

What muffler are you using? Do you have a sound clip?

I have almost no drone with stright pipe but some trucks do. But I agree, try to find the right combo.

My 64 Galaxie has a 390 stroker and I couldnt get the drone out until my 3rd set of mufflers. I went flowmaster, to dynomax, to stright pipe (yikes), and finaly found that stright thu Magnaflow fixed it. All in the same location.

Just got to play around with it.

10-4. Thanks for the input. Might go a totally different route next time with a stack. Love the look, not sure about the sound though. Maybe i'm asking for trouble.

Maybe try a different muffler. I really like the sound of my Silverline 4 in.

I don't know what diamond eye is like, but the silverline was more of a resonator than a muffler.
