Seafoam in oil worked
I put 1OZ per quart of seafoam in my neighbors truck. It runs allot better and he noticed that there is less engine noise. I will be putting it in my truck once I get to the end of my interval.
He also put it in his VW diesel and that use to smoke a bunch at start up. But not anymore |

I ran a bottle in one oil change a couple of changes ago. Didn't notice any difference, but I wasn't having any issues anyway. Thought it would just do some cleaning.
There is a guy who runs it in every oil change, DSMMH, or something like that. Runs it in all his motors. Never an issue. |

Thought I had heard somewhere not to use it in our engines but not sure why...

Do you plan on running it for the full 5,000 miles or add it a couple hundred miles before you change the oil?

HUEI engines is why.... Dont know exactly myself but IIRC it is because oil actually goes through the injectors to fire them... seafoam is bad in that area I believe... |

When I use seafoam I use it at the end of the interval. I dont think it is able to withstand long durations of a full interval. So I plan on using it towards the last 500 or less miles of the intervals. |

Smokersteve, you run Mobil 1, there is no reason whatsoever to run Seafoam in your engine. If you think your engine needs cleaning look into Archoil ar9100 and leave the Seafoam alone.

I thought I read somewhere that the sea foam cannot withstand the pressures of the hpop and would cause problems over time. is that true?
