Programing decisions

My 60 year old neighbor has an 04 2004 F-450 MANUAL transmission. He has 55,000 miles on it, original owner. He hauls a 3,500lb cab over camper about once every 2 or 3 months and wants to start driving it more.

He had some work done and got an updated flash. He wants to gain some performance and mpg but does not want to spend $400 for an SCT and tunes.

Would it be better to flash back to a certain ford flash for about $80, OR, get one of the PHP's FICM performance tunes for about $150? Im guessing he would get the Atlas 80 if he were to do the FICM tune....

Would it be worth it to do both?

Remember that he has a manual transmission, so transmission tuning is not a factor.

If you have any other programing ideas that would be great also.

Thanks!
